I have heard of Physician Credentials M.D, what is a D.O?
  • Osteopathic physicians (DOs) are fully-licensed to prescribe medicine and practice in all specialty areas, including surgery.
  • DOs practice a "whole person" approach to medicine.
  • Osteopathic physicians focus on preventive health care.
  • DOs receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system - your body's interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones that make up two-thirds of your body mass.
I am a new patient, today is my first consultation appointment. What do I need to bring?
  • An updated insurance card, a photo ID, copay or deductible, copies of records of previous doctor’s office, filled out forms (in the ‘For the Patient’ menu) and all medications the patient currently takes.
I have insurance, but I do not know if Dr. Mussaji is contracted with my insurance plan.
  • As courtesy, we verify insurance policies before a patient is seen. However, it is the patient’s responsibility to call their insurance carrier to find out which physicians are contracted with their plan. Due to recent changes in Health Care and many different healthcare plans in the market, there may be some plans that we do not accept. Click here to see the insurances we accept.
I have an HMO plan with a different providers name on my insurance ID card. Can I still be seen by Dr. Mussaji?
  • HMO plans prefer if the patient visits the assigned provider for all their healthcare needs. Some insurances will not pay for visits established outside of their designated networks or PODS. We recommend that you call your insurance before scheduling an appointment with us. Or call your insurance and switch your provider to Dr. Mussaji, if you feel he is the right Primary Care Provider for you.
During my visit, blood samples were drawn. What should I expect next?
  • As soon as we receive your results from the labs, we will call you. If everything is normal, we will inform you over the phone. If the outcomes of the results are abnormal and if the doctor deems a visit necessary to discuss, we will call to schedule a follow up appointment. We do not address concerns or rule out diagnosis over the phone.
How can I get my prescriptions refilled?
  • We ONLY prescribe medications electronically unless in certain emergency situations. Please call your pharmacy to fax us a refill request form to 713 641 3901. Allow 2 to 3 days for us to authorize the refill request form.
